It has been another busy year for the Mercers’ Company. From April 2019 to March 2020 we have awarded 180 new grants totalling over £12.5m across our three people-based giving programmes: young people & education; older people & housing; and Church & communities.
We were delighted to be awarded the Good Provider level from the EROSH code of practice accreditation scheme – the national network for older people and housing service professionals. This marked our dedication to the four almshouses and two sheltered housing schemes we manage supporting 200 residents.
Our recent focus has been supporting our existing grant holders respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are a signatory of the Covid-19 London Funders’ statement and we have launched a rapid response fund to provide immediate, short–term support to our grantees. To date we have awarded 60 grants totalling over £400,000.
